The National Integrated Drought Information System updates the Colorado River Basin drought status every Thursday with current data from the previous Tuesday.

Today’s update marks an increase in overall areas in some form of drought at 36.58%, up from last week’s 35.17%. All drought categories from D1 to D4 experienced increases as the region prepares to transition into the cooler seasons. The exceptional drought stricken areas continuing to remain in the southeast part of the basin.
